Thank you for doing this work! There's constant demand for this kind of thing in the nonprofit sector and very few (affordable) sources for it. Inspiring! Thank you!

Really insightful, thank you! Without meaning to sound critical, I note that another reason to take this lightly is the possibility that roles hired for through these job boards systematically deviate from overall salary averages. My mental model of this hiring space assumes a disproportionate amount of high-paying, senior roles won't be advertised like this. The load-bearing hypothetical looks something like "Hey, Jane Smith used to be the CTO at Nonsuch, Inc., and I heard she's absolutely cracked. How much does she make now? If we beat that, do you think we can poach her?"

Very open to the author or other readers validating or challenging this model!

I definitely agree that this will happen in some cases, though I think a lot of organizations in the ecosystem use salary formulas or policies that constrain it to some extent — e.g., glancing at the senior salaries advertised, they strike me as roughly matching what I think most senior people are making (in charities at least). But, I absolutely agree that many people are negotiating higher salaries so real salaries at orgs might often be higher than these!
