Thank you for this! I just gave a lightning talk at the Wild Animal Welfare Summit at NYU where I briefly touched on this need. I'm curious about outreach to scientists - I used to go to the big entomology conferences in the US, and I think it would be interesting if an insect welfare panel could be organized there at some point.

A way wildlife can be helped on a massive scale now is with effective opposition to fishing, including so-called "recreational fishing." There is an abundance of scientific evidence showing that fishes are sentient, and it is plainly apparent that they -and the countless other animals harmed/killed by fishing gear - suffer greatly from being caught. www.FishFeel.org/fish-sentience/
